I’ll know this country has finally grown up when its TV announcers and commentators no longer refer to the US Olympic contingent as Team USA.

Boy, that speedskater from Chicago is driving all the flag-wavers nuts, isn’t he? I like him. (After several curt, unsmiling answers to the expected questions after winning the 1,000 meters yesterday, the interviewer asked: “Are you angry, Shani?” I had to give her credit for asking!) At his website, he’s called Team Davis. What a hoot!
